Samuel Gawith already produce one of the most popular VaPer (Virginia & Perique) flakes in the UK, St James Flake but this is rivals it beautifully. Comprised of golden & brown Virginias and a seasoning of Perique aged in old sherry barrels. Light cold pressed, this tobacco break apart with very little ease and ideal for folding into the bowl.
From the tin this has very sweet woody aroma, with hints of grass and a subtle hint of the pungency of perique. The volume of Perique looks reasonably low compared to some VaPer blends, with a few dark streaks through the attractive golden & brown flake. Once lit the smoke has a strong Virginia flavour, sweetness with some woods and grass and enhanced with gentle spice of the Perique.
By no means the strongest VaPer tobacco out there, but perfect for those warm spring days. Cool and mellow tobacco, with a nice bright and natural flavour profile.
