The 227 is one of the most elegant shapes in the Stanwell repertoire, the tall Dublin bowl is matched with a sweeping thin shank and saddle mouthpiece. A classic Danish take on this iconic shape. The Stanwell Royal Guard range of pipes are finished smooth, with a light brown stain. Pipes which exhibit good look grain and lack of flaws are selected for this range. After a good polish the pipes are fitted with a glossy, black acrylic mouthpiece and sold in a gift sock with a pipe bag.
In 2010 the Danish factory was closed and all production was moved to Italy, who over the years has become the largest pipe producing nation in Europe. Thanks to the systems used by Poul Stanwell has ensure that very little has changed since this switch and they still offer the best quality for the money today.
