the gorgious 999 is a bent Rhodesian and it looks stunning in the Irish Mounted Army series. Like all the Irish Made Army pipes, this features a smooth, matt Brown finish, complete with a nickel mount. A great pipe for those who like to carry a pipe in there pocket and don't want to snap the shank/stem.

The Army style mount was favoured by those serving during in battle, if a solider was called to duty he could remove the stem and place both parts in his pocket. You can technically do this with any pipe, but it is not suggested as the briar expands with the heat and the band prevents this. Another advantage to the army mount was getting a new stem, with them all ahving the same diameters on the mouthpiece. Any Peterson Army mount stem will fit another Peteson Army mount*.
