The 53 seems to be rare in the UK range of Petersons and its inclusion in this range is what drew us to these beautiful pipes. As with all of the Peterson shapes, this lovat is perfectly balanced thanks to its large, thick walled bowl. New for 2014, the green series is cut from high grade, cross cut briar. Like the “Green Spray Spigot “ range, the briar is selected for its look and natural flaws. Only briar up to standards is selected and given a green stain. Peterson stain there pipes by using ethanol based stains, first dipping the bowl into the stain and then over a naked flame. The pipe is allowed to dry and then given a mirror shine, the dipping method allows for contrasting colouring, with the grain. A hand fitted silver band is fitted above the vulcanite stem with fishtail bit.
